Great concept for a holster

Not much to add after Rangerat's excellent review. Keep in mind as he stated, this will not protect your revolver very much, its designed to be bulk free and light. This fits my Ruger Blackhawk, Colt SSA and other large frame revolvers perfectly. Love the look and the leather/stitching is excellent. My only complaint is (if they even make one) I can not find a small version for my .22 revolvers.

Less is more

I did side-by-side trial of this holster, Hunter 1090 and hunter 1200, in search of an economical crossdraw holster. THIS is a real sleeper and should be considered. All are very good choices, with similar sturdy build and look like they will last a long time. I kept this one because it seemed like this one allowed quickest draw and pretty much stayed out of the way. It carries the heavy Vaquero well when used with a stiff belt. However, if you are concerned about scratches from heavy bush or might have to run a lot or crawl, the others might be a better choice. This rig keeps the Vaquero surprisingly secure even on an ATV and the loop stays put, although I'm sure it will need to be adjusted/replaced periodically. The photo shows the belt loop side, the other side is smooth leather with holes for the loop. For crossdraw, just use one of the loops and let it cant over. You can use both loops on strong side for vertical carry. As the title implies, this is a great choice.
