Outstanding Holster

I almost did not buy this item because of the negative comments here in. My purchase proved to be an exceptional buy. No problems did I find with regards to holstering my S&W 44 mag. It's well made, comfortable and functions very good. I definitely recommend this holster.

A great value

This is a great holster, can be adjusted to work well with many large handguns.

The main reason I did not

The main reason I did not care for this holster is that I could not find a way to stabilize it. It accomodates the pistol with scope okay for carrying, but inserting the pistol is difficult and seems to require a great deal of fiddling each time you want to use it. I have even employed extra lacing but the design is such that it just isn't very solid.

Excellent item, used this

Excellent item, used this on a Javelina hunt in Arizona. Everyone else had the over the shoulder strap model. They complained about it cutting into their neck. I had no such problems and found that it carried my S&W 629 44 Mag with a weaver scope very nicely on my belt. Very comfortable for the long hikes. I would recommend to anyone.

I could have given this

I could have given this holster 5 stars, because it was exactly what I expected it to be - an unlined "universal fit" holster. I have an 8.375" Smith 629 revolver with a Hakko red dot sight and Crimson Trace's new "Hoghunter" Lasergrips. I customized the holster to my pistol by fitting and riveting the scope cover to the holster, making the buckle straps ornamental only ( I also glued the scope cover to the holster with 3M weather-strip adhesive to help hold the holster open for inserting the revolver easier). I then got the leather wet where the cylinder sits and molded it to fit the gun. It is now a very functional holster for hunting in the brush or for riding around on horseback or on a 4-wheeler.
